I was at a loss as to what to bring to the last PhillyKnitters Stitch & Bitch. I hadn't made a trip to the grocery and my refrigerator was housing batteries, candles, film and mustard. I was panicked and was in no mood to fight the Saturday shopping crowds.
Enter The Party Girl Cookbook.
Filled with party ideas from a Literary Lunch to a Toga Party, this party planning cookbook has some amazing ideas and recipes.
I tapped into the Oscar Night Party recipes and found the Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn.
With 6 ingredients that I knew I had on hand, I was popping popcorn and melting chocolate before I knew it!
The only downfall- powdered sugar is not a friend of knitted items.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn
9oz semi sweet chocolate or 1-1/2 cuts chocolate chips
2/3 c smooth peanut butter
1/3 c margarine or butter
1 t vanilla
3 Quarts popped popcorn (about 6T popcorn kernels)
2 c powdered sugar
Melt chocolate, peanut butter and butter in 1qt saucepan over low heat until melted. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Place popped popcorn in a large bowl and pour in chocolate mixture, stirring to coat evenly. Pour the popcorn into a large paper bag, add the powdered sugar. Fold the top of the bag and shake until well coated. Spread on large sheets of waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container when cool. Makes 3 qts.

I will have to try this sometime it looks pretty good :)
