Where do I start?
The weekend was fabulous!
I spent Wednesday driving 6 hours from Philly to Virginia Beach to pick up Cathy.
The MINI Cooper was packed with crafting supplies and by 5pm we were on our way to Concord, NC. I was exhausted and let CB drive. A few small panic attacks later (rush hour traffic...eek!) and we were rolling along down Route 58 to 85. We made it to the hotel a little before midnight (thanks GoogleMaps for sending us NOWHERE near the hotel on the first try!).
Thursday was a free day for us. We got up early and waited to register for the event. We were a little worried that we were going to miss out on some of the Mini Workshops, so we headed downstairs to check things out. Before long, a line formed and we were on our way to starting a craft-tacular weekend.
CB and I got our cool Inspired tote bags, registered for 5 Mini Workshops and did a little shopping at the vendor tables before finding a CVS to print photos and a place to have lunch.
Thursday night we attended the kickoff dinner with Pecan encrusted chicken, veggies, sweet potatoes and cheesecake. Donna introduced the teachers and I nearly choked on my Sweet Tea when Heather Bailey walked into the room!
After dinner was the first of 2 mini workshops: the first was a little flip book on a ring with ideas to jump start creativity. It was taught by Heather Ruwe who runs Scrapbook Bakery, which, by the way, packs their kits in PINK! BAKERY! BOXES! Hello? Resistance is futile when it comes to not buying her cute kits! Did I mention the pink bakery boxes??? I really enjoyed her class and the ideas she had for making pages were things I never would have thought of. It's now permanently attached to my scrapbook tote.
