Food 2.0
Woah. I got an advance copy of Charlie Ayers's new book Food 2.0. He was the cook who fed Google!
This book showcases some of the things that make me happy. For example, some of his Kitchen Essentials are: "good bread is a must, beer is a happiness item and chocolate is a non-negotiable part of life." Hello? Soul Mate!
He tells you how to be greener, eat fresher and cook smarter. The book is written with a lot of witty catch phrases that make you feel good but also make you think. Ayers believes that every meal is an opportunity to make a difference. With "green" being the new catchphrase you can be sure this book will be a popular draw, but the recipes are things you will actually want to eat. Just flipping through the pages I got tons of ideas for dinners and snacks!
The best idea I read so far was to save bits of cheese leftover from the cheese plate a dinner party and make a "mystery fondue". OMG, duh! Why didn't I think of that? I have a feeling I will be have a lot of lightbulb moments as I sink my teeth deeper into this book.
Over 100 recipes are in this book along with tips and techniques. You can find it on Amazon.com for $16.95 (retail $25) but the publishers were kind enough to give me a FREE copy to raffle off along with a cool Food 2.0 lunchbag!!
So, drop me a comment by Friday, May 9th and I will use the random number generator to choose one of YOU to win the book & lunchbag! Make sure you use a valid email address in your comment so I can contact you to get your mailing address! The prize you'll win is below! Come on lurkers... comment!

What a great idea for the leftover cheese. I always over buy/prepare when we have friends over. I'll be sure to remember this next time. Thanks!
